Palmon is a Rookie-level, Data-attribute Vegetation-type Digimon, best known as Mimi Tachikawa’s partner in Digimon Adventure. Its classic anime line runs Tanemon, Palmon, Togemon, Lillymon and then Rosemon. That same line is how you’ll usually raise it in the Digimon Story games and play it in the card game. This profile covers each version, Palmon’s signature attacks, and where it appears.

Who is Palmon

Palmon is a small plant Digimon with a big pink flower on its head. Its fingers stretch into long vines. The roots on its feet let it soak up sunlight and water, and its flower can release a scent. That fragrance is often a pleasant one, but it can turn foul when Palmon is in a bad mood. Palmon looks cute, but it fights by lashing and binding enemies with those vines.

Most of you know it from Digimon Adventure. There, Palmon is loyal, cheerful and endlessly patient with Mimi, and the pair grow up together over the series. Palmon also returns in Adventure 02, Adventure tri., the 2020 Digimon Adventure: reboot and the Story games. Japanese and English share the same name, so “Palmon” is correct everywhere. “Palamon” is a common misspelling.

Evolution line

Palmon’s evolutions depend on the medium. Its anime line is fixed, while the games add branches and stat requirements. For the bigger picture across the franchise, our Digimon evolution chart lays out every major line side by side.

Anime (Digimon Adventure continuity)

From To Level reached Where it happens
Yuramon Tanemon In-Training Digimon Adventure (1999)
Tanemon Palmon Rookie Digimon Adventure (1999)
Palmon Togemon Champion Digimon Adventure (1999)
Togemon Lillymon Ultimate Digimon Adventure (1999)
Lillymon Rosemon Mega Digimon Adventure tri.

The TV series never gave Palmon a Mega form. Fans waited until Adventure tri. to see Rosemon finally join the partners’ Mega lineup.

Digimon Story games (Cyber Sleuth, Hacker’s Memory)

In Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and Hacker’s Memory, you can raise Palmon along its anime line. The game also adds side branches.

From To Level reached
Tanemon Palmon Rookie
Palmon Togemon Champion
Togemon Lillymon Ultimate
Lillymon Rosemon Mega

In the Cyber Sleuth games, digivolution requirements combine Digimon level, ABI, CAM and stats such as ATK or INT. Your in-game Field Guide shows the exact numbers for each branch. Rosemon is a popular endgame pick because of its high INT. If you’re new to the series, our Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth complete game overview covers the systems.

Tamer tip

ABI is usually what stops your Palmon from hitting Rosemon in Cyber Sleuth. Digivolving and de-digivolving a few times raises ABI, so cycle Palmon through Togemon and back before you aim for Mega.

Palmon also shows up in Digimon Story Time Stranger (2025). Its branches there follow that game’s own chart, so check the in-game evolution menu before you commit to a route. Our list of Time Stranger Digimon with pictures shows the full roster. If you’re learning the new system, our guide on how to evolve Agumon in Digimon Story Time Stranger walks through the mechanics step by step.

Digimon Card Game (2020)

From To Card level Color
Tanemon Palmon Lv.3 Green
Palmon Togemon Lv.4 Green
Togemon Lillymon Lv.5 Green
Lillymon Rosemon Lv.6 Green

Palmon’s line belongs to green, the color built around suspending and locking down opposing Digimon. Rosemon cards in particular have been strong pieces in green decks. Palmon has many card versions, so we won’t list card numbers here unless we can confirm them set by set.

Signature attacks

The attack names below come from the English dub of Digimon Adventure, with Japanese names noted where they differ.

Digimon Attack Notes
Palmon Poison Ivy Vines shoot out to whip or entangle the enemy
Togemon Needle Spray (Chikuchiku Bang Bang) Fires a barrage of cactus needles
Lillymon Flower Cannon Blasts energy from flower-shaped hands
Rosemon Thorn Whip, Forbidden Temptation Rosemon’s signature moves

Togemon’s attack is a fan favorite. Watching a giant boxing cactus unload a hail of spikes in Adventure is pure 1999 Digimon energy.

Card games

Palmon has been part of Bandai’s Digimon card games since the original era. In Digimon Card Game (2020), Palmon and its line are mainly green cards, though at least one Palmon card is a Green/Red dual-color card.

Trivia

  • Rosemon has a separate famous anime role. She is Yoshino’s partner’s Mega in Digimon Data Squad, reached through Lalamon. Rosemon is the Mega for two very different anime partners.
  • Lillymon has long been one of the most popular Ultimates among Adventure fans. That made the wait for Palmon’s Mega feel even longer.
  • In Adventure, Togemon has boxing gloves and fights like a boxer. That’s a fun clash with Palmon’s gentle personality.
  • Palmon’s Rookie form already has Data attribute in the Adventure-era profiles. Its line has always played as support and control. The card game’s green lock-down style fits that well.
