Who is Venusmon

Venusmon is one of the twelve Olympos XII, the group of god-class Digimon named after the Roman pantheon. Her namesake is Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty and the counterpart of the Greek Aphrodite. That puts her alongside Jupitermon, Junomon, Apollomon and the rest of a faction that the franchise treats as one of its top power tiers, in the same weight class as the Royal Knights and the Seven Great Demon Lords. Her Japanese name, Vinamon (ヴィーナモン), comes from the Japanese pronunciation of “Venus”. English releases use Venusmon.

What makes Venusmon interesting is her rarity. She has never been a focal character in a TV series, so most Tamers know her from databases and card art rather than from a memorable episode. Digimon Story Time Stranger changed that by making the Olympos XII a real presence in a mainline-style RPG and letting you raise her yourself. For a lot of players, Time Stranger is the first time Venusmon has felt like more than a name on a list.

Evolution line

Evolution lines differ by medium, and Venusmon is a good example of why that matters. She has no anime evolution line at all. Her only playable line so far is in Time Stranger, and the card game uses its own level-based rules. Each medium is covered on its own below so nothing gets mixed up.

Venusmon does not appear in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth or its Hacker’s Memory companion. Time Stranger is her Digimon Story debut.

In Time Stranger, every route into and out of a Digimon appears in the Digivolution tree. That tree also lists the exact requirements for each branch. For Megas, those requirements are a mix of stat thresholds and your Agent Rank, which is the progression track for your protagonist. Your Agent Rank grows as you take on story missions and side work. You can’t push a Digimon into a Mega form early just by grinding levels. The game holds the top tier back until your Agent Rank catches up, and that applies to Venusmon too.

The modern Digimon Card Game prints Megas as Lv.6 cards. Each card lists its own digivolve cost and conditions. We list set codes and card numbers on this site only after checking them against official card lists, so Venusmon’s printings will be added here once they’re confirmed. Until then, read the digivolve requirement printed on the specific card you own, because it beats any generic chart.

Signature attacks

Attack names for the Olympos XII vary a lot between official profiles, translations and individual games. Venusmon’s are no exception. We don’t print attack names here that we can’t match to a source, so this section sticks to what you will see in practice.

In Time Stranger, every Digimon has a Signature Move, a unique skill tied to that species. You can see it in the Digimon’s details from the party menu as soon as you have her. Her other skills come in two kinds. Some are learned at set levels. Others are inherited from earlier forms if you raised her through a particular tree. The skill list in the details screen is the most accurate source for your version of the game, especially after balance patches.

Use this checklist when you read Venusmon’s skill list:

• Element of each attack. Time Stranger’s elements include Fire, Water, Plant, Ice, Electric, Steel, Wind, Earth, Light, Dark and Neutral. An attack’s element decides which enemy weaknesses it hits.
• Physical or magic. Physical attacks scale off ATK, magic attacks off INT. This decides which stat you build.
• Single target or all enemies. Area attacks clear trash fights. Single-target attacks are for bosses.
• Support effects. Look for skills that apply buffs to allies, place debuffs on an enemy, heal, revive, or clear status abnormalities. A Mega with even one revive or status-clearing skill is valuable in long boss fights.

Building Venusmon in Time Stranger

People search for a Venusmon build a lot, so here is how to approach one. The goal is to read her kit correctly rather than copy a generic template.

Lean into the Vaccine attribute

Time Stranger keeps the attribute triangle familiar from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth:

As a Vaccine, Venusmon deals boosted damage to Virus Digimon and takes extra damage from Data Digimon. That shapes where she shines. Story chapters stacked with Virus enemies are her best stretch. Fights with Data-heavy enemies are where you should rotate her out or pair her with a Virus partner who covers that weak point.

Pick a lane: offense or support

Once you have her, open her stat page and compare her ATK and INT. Then compare her DEF and SPI.

1. If INT is clearly higher than ATK, build her as a magic attacker. Put stat-boosting items and gear into INT and SPD so her magic skills land before the enemy acts.
2. If ATK is higher, do the mirror version with ATK and SPD.
3. If her kit includes revive, heal or status-clearing skills, consider her a support Mega first. Stack SPI and HP so she survives long enough to bring allies back. A support who goes down first helps nobody.

Time Stranger also gives each Digimon a personality that nudges how its stats grow. Before you pour resources into Venusmon, check that her personality favours the stat you plan to build. Otherwise you will fight her growth curve for the rest of the game.

Team slots around her

A strong three-Digimon setup with Venusmon looks like this:

• Venusmon for Virus matchups, plus support if her kit has it.
• A Virus or Data attacker to cover the Data enemies she struggles against.
• A Free attribute Digimon as a neutral safety pick, or a second damage dealer with a different element spread.

Venus is one of the gentler domains on that list, so it suits a Vaccine attribute Digimon. Thematically she stands beside Apollomon’s sun and Dianamon’s moon as one of the group’s celestial and divine figures, since Venus is also the brightest planet in the night sky after the Moon.

One naming trap catches newer fans. The Olympos XII Mercurymon is a different Digimon from Mercurymon (Mercuremon) of Digimon Frontier, the Legendary Warrior of Steel who fought Junpei Shibayama and the other kids. They share a mythological root and nothing else.

• Name origin: “Venusmon” comes from Venus, the Roman goddess of love. The Japanese name Vinamon reflects how “Venus” is written in katakana.
• A Roman pantheon, Greek setting: The group is called Olympos XII after Mount Olympus from Greek myth, but every member uses the Roman name of a deity. Venusmon follows that rule rather than being called “Aphroditemon”.
