Junomon is a Mega-level Digimon and the Juno of the Olympos XII, the twelve deity Digimon modelled on the Roman gods and led by Jupitermon. Its headline appearance is in Digimon Story: Time Stranger (2025), where it shows up alongside a second form, Junomon: Hysteric Mode. This profile covers what is confirmed, which medium each fact comes from, and what has not been verified yet.

You’ll notice two blanks in that file. Attribute and Type values for Junomon differ in how fan sites report them. We only print a value after checking it against an official source, and these two haven’t passed that check yet. That rule applies to every Digimon on this site.

Who is Junomon

Junomon belongs to the Olympos XII, a group of twelve Mega Digimon. Each one takes its name from a Roman god and maps onto one of the Greek Twelve Olympians. Juno is the queen of the Roman gods and the wife of Jupiter, so Junomon sits at the top of the group’s hierarchy as the counterpart to Jupitermon, the Olympos XII leader. For years it was one of the members fans could name but couldn’t actually use.

That changed with Digimon Story: Time Stranger. The Olympos XII are central to that game’s story, and Junomon finally became a Digimon you can meet, fight and raise. Time Stranger also gives it a second form, Junomon: Hysteric Mode (fans shorten it to Junomon HM). That form mirrors the way Jupitermon has a Wrath Mode. The names fit the myths: Jupiter’s wrath and Juno’s jealousy are the two most famous traits of that divine couple.

Hysteric Mode is a mode form, not a new species. Think of it like the Mode Change forms you already know from other Megas. It’s the same Digimon in a more extreme state. Jupitermon: Wrath Mode follows the same pattern, so Hysteric Mode reads as the matching form for Jupitermon’s queen.

The exact path between the two forms in Time Stranger, and any stat or rank gate on that path, is not something we’re printing until it’s confirmed against the game itself. Your in-game digivolution screen will always show you the live requirements for your save.

Fans often get one thing wrong here. The Olympos XII Mercurymon is a different Digimon from the Mercurymon in Digimon Frontier. In Japanese they have different names: Merukimon for the Olympos member and Mercuremon for Frontier’s Legendary Warrior of Steel. The English dub and localisations collapsed both to “Mercurymon”, which has caused confusion ever since. Junomon has no such problem, because nothing else in the franchise shares its name.

Evolution line

Here the medium matters more than usual. Junomon is playable in Digimon Story: Time Stranger and Digimon New Century, so its evolution data exists in those games. If you’re used to big branching trees on our Digimon evolution chart, Junomon’s entry looks sparse by comparison. That reflects how recent it is.

No anime has shown Junomon. That covers everything from Digimon Adventure through Digimon Ghost Game, plus the movies. So there’s no anime evolution line to report. Some other Olympos XII members have had screen time, but Junomon isn’t one of them.

Junomon does not appear in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth or its follow-up, Hacker’s Memory. Time Stranger is the only Digimon Story entry with Junomon and Junomon: Hysteric Mode in its roster.

We are deliberately not listing which Ultimate-level Digimon lead into Junomon in Time Stranger. Several guide sites publish trees for the game. Until we’ve checked a line against the game’s own data, we won’t present it as fact.

Signature attacks

We can’t confirm Junomon’s or Junomon: Hysteric Mode’s signature attack names against an official source yet. That’s why this section is short.

Fan wikis and guide sites list move names for both forms from Time Stranger. Translations of new Digimon attacks often shift between the Japanese release, early English reports and the final localisation, though. Printing an unconfirmed name in a database profile spreads errors that get copied for years. We’d rather leave the space empty than add to that.

When the attacks are verified, this section will list each one with its name, what it does and which medium it comes from. In Time Stranger, that means the in-game skill name and description.

Junomon has no anime appearances. It isn’t in any series from Digimon Adventure (1999) onward, nor in any of the films. If you’re working through our Digimon Adventure series guide hoping for an early cameo, you won’t find one.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is published by Bandai Namco and developed by Media.Vision, the studio behind the Cyber Sleuth games. It launched in October 2025 with a roster of more than 450 Digimon, which makes it the biggest Digimon Story entry to date.

The Olympos XII sit near the heart of its plot, which is why Junomon and Hysteric Mode feature so prominently. Trivia

• The name comes from Juno, the Roman queen of the gods. She was the protector of women and marriage, and the month of June is traditionally said to be named after her.
• Hera’s jealousy explains Hysteric Mode. In Greek myth, Hera (Juno’s Greek counterpart) is famous for her rage at Zeus’s affairs. A “Hysteric Mode” for Jupiter’s queen plays on that reputation.
• It pairs with Jupitermon’s Wrath Mode. The king gets a wrath form and the queen gets a hysteric form. The parallel is deliberate and very on-theme for the Olympos XII.
• “HM” is fan shorthand. Searches for “junomon hm” and “junomon: hysteric mode” refer to the same Digimon. “HM” is a community abbreviation, not an official separate name.
• Mega has a different Japanese name. The English level “Mega” is called “Ultimate” in Japanese. If you read Japanese sources on Junomon, that’s why the level looks different.
• Long wait, quick payoff. Junomon was one of the Olympos XII members fans knew about but couldn’t use for years. Time Stranger introduced it with two forms at once.
